Este discurso profundiza en la relevancia crucial de las humanidades en la sociedad contemporánea, especialmente en un contexto de consumismo extremo y avances tecnológicos como la Inteligencia Artificial. Esta intervención se inicia con un emotivo agradecimiento a República Dominicana y a quienes hicieron posible su nombramiento como Profesora Honoraria de la Facultad de Humanidades de la UASD, destacando su conexión personal e institucional con el país.

El núcleo del discurso se centra en cómo las humanidades, a través del dominio de las palabras y el pensamiento crítico, nos educan para interpretar el mundo, aprender de la historia, discernir lo esencial, fomentar la inclusión y actuar en lugar de juzgar. Se concluye reafirmando que las humanidades son esenciales para evitar la ignorancia, la incapacidad de dialogar, el individualismo y la marginación, y para reconocer la belleza y la complejidad de la condición humana, ofreciendo una vía para solucionar los desafíos de nuestra sociedad posmoderna.
